He wasn’t what he calls a “cat person,” but that was before he met Bambi. “I fell in love with her,” says Abdul.
At the time, the female kitten was being held at a euthanasia facility in North Carolina. I had to urgently find a foster home for my young cat. When Abdul was asked about it, he readily agreed despite his lack of experience. Bambi was also plagued with anxiety, but as time went on, they became more attached and felt better about each other. He assumed she was the one who saved his life.
Abdul was supposed to take her only for a while. He was preparing to adopt her, but in the end, he decided to adopt her. The relationship between him and Bambi had a real affinity. When she looked at him with those big eyes, he said she was like, “I’m here for you. I love you. It’s okay.”
