Internet users were perplexed by Addison’s contentious biкini image.
Kourtney Kardashian Barker’s best friend and TikTok star Addison Rae alienated some of her followers after sharing a photo of herself online wearing a “disrespectful” swimsuit. The religious “theme” of the biкini drew a lot of comments. The post has since been taken down.
The bikini in question is from Adidas’ Praying range, and it features the words “father” and “son” printed on one cup each, as well as the phrase “holy spirit” written across the bottoms. However, only the bikini top could be seen in Addison’s post.
The biкini’s product description on the Praying website reads: “Incredible faith powerful healing. Triangle-Inside Side. God’s blessings be on your spirit and on you.
The caption of the since-deleted Instagram picture said, “Nah this disrespectful to Jesus,” according to one user. Sad what you do for money, someone else on Twitter asked if someone would truly sell a bikini with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
shockingly disrespectful I’m hoping the @whoisaddison bikini wasn’t a legitimate swimwear line. If it’s accurate, you might have lost a client.
Another Twitter user remarked, “If Addison Rae was making fun of any other religion, she’d be trending and getting fired from RN.” She isn’t, though, because it’s Christianity. A fourth individual said,
The outright mockery of Christianity by @adidas and Addison Rae is not acceptable.
As of the writing of this piece, Addison has not addressed the garment or offered remorse for removing it.
Adidas doesn’t appear to have openly addressed the outrage the line has generated.
On social media, other people also made comments about the contentious garment, with one saying, “I’m literally a Christian and I think this is so cute.”
Simply sharing the photo with the hashtag “OH MY GOD #addisonrae,” another user did.
After removing the swims-it photo, Addison started posting about the launch of her new line of dolls at Walmart.
Cosmopolitan UK has gotten in touch with Adidas and Addison Rae for comments; if they respond, this piece will be updated.
