In 2019, Dick Van Dyke will reach the age of 97.
He now strives to stay awake while appreciating life with his wife.
Well-known performer Dick Van Dyke appears to be in excellent health. Furthermore, after ten years of marriage to Arlene Silver, he still deeply loves her.Arlene Silver, Dick Van Dyke’s wife, and the couple were recently spotted in the Los Angeles area. The pair was spotted on their way to the gym. It was reported that Van Dyke was in a good mood as he smiled and posed for pictures with fans in the parking lot before going to the gym with his wife to get some exercise.
The comedian did not seem to mind being photographed despite reports that he had been sick with pink eye recently. Meanwhile, Silver, his wife, halted to take photos.
They went to the gym together and left it together almost an hour later. Silver donned a gray sweater and black pants to the meeting, while Van Dyke wore a burgundy hooded top.
Why did he end up with his spouse?
On Valentine’s Day, the couple posted a video to YouTube in which they dance and sing to the song “Everybody Loves a Lover.” In an interview with Closer Weekly from March 2022, Van Dyke credited Silver as the driving force behind his happiness and productivity:
We’re of the same mind. Rather than fighting the current, she may ride it out. She gets our daily dose of singing and dancing. She’s so sweet it hurts.
Silver, a cosmetician, doesn’t mind that her partner is 46 years younger than she is. However, she diverted the conversation to her husband, gushing, “He is the most perfect human being.” I’ve never met somebody so joyful, genuine, and incredible. To paraphrase a popular saying: “He’s like a happy pill.”
The two first connected at the 2007 Screen Guilders Awards. Van Dyke had originally planned to offer an award, but he wound up chatting with Silver, who was busy powdering his nose.
She stated that when the Missouri native first introduced himself, she asked if he wasn’t the same guy who played the title role in the 1964 Disney musical “Mary Poppins.”
Almost instantly, they hit it off and started hanging out together. Since then, Silver says, 51, it didn’t “feel like he was much older than me.” Her husband had previously stated that he never expected to experience love again. Van Dyke was also worried that their age gap might make people uncomfortable with their connection.
The TV star, who had been in relationships lasting more than 30 years, was fearful that their relationship would be revealed and that Silver was only marrying him for his money. But, he said, no one ever said anything.
The happy pair marked their tenth wedding anniversary on February 29, 2022. Van Dyke, when asked about the recently released video of them singing and dancing, noted that harmonizing is his favorite part because it challenges him the most.
For His 46-Year-Old Wife, Van Dyke Prepared Romantic Moments
In his heart, Van Dyke is a romantic. Together with Silver, he danced in the music video for “Everybody Loves a Lover,” by the Vantastix. They were laughing and joking as they sang a duet and he performed some dance moves for her.
After his first marriage to Margie Willett, Van Dyke is now married for the second time. They were married for 36 years before calling it quits in 1984. Their four kids are named Barry, Carrie, Christian, and Stacy. The former “Diagnosis: Murder” star also happens to be a doting grandfather to seven young’uns.
After the dissolution of his first marriage, Van Dyke met the woman who would become his long-term companion, Michelle Triola. She passed away in 2009 after a 30-year marriage to him.
Van Dyke is a well-known Hollywood character apart from his private life. In February of 2021, he will be honored at the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony in Washington, DC. The Oscar-winning actor recently expressed his contentment with his current location to Entertainment Tonight.
If he had known he would be alive today, he would have taken better care of himself, he said. Van Dyke added, “I don’t know how I got here, and I’m not going to ask.”
The legendary actor remarked that after seven decades in the business, he was considering aiming for “Knighthood” as his next goal because nothing could beat it.
