For over 40 years, Eric Braeden has portrayed Victor Newman on “The Young and the Restless.” Braeden disclosed that he is undergoing cancer treatment on Friday.
I’m not too sick, but I am a touch under the weather. In a 13-minute Facebook video, 82-year-old Braeden acknowledged that, although it’s not much, he exercises.
Braeden claims a urologist examined his bladder and discovered multiple “high-grade” malignant cells. He disclosed that during his recovery following knee surgery, he had been experiencing problems with his prostate.
The actor, who was honored with an Emmy for his work, also starred as John Jacob Astor IV in the 2018 heist thriller “Den of Thieves” in the film “Titanic.” He said that he was still able to act on “Y&R” even after receiving immunotherapy treatments for a total of six weeks.
“I’m happy to be able to go to work,” he remarked. It pleases me to be able to start working. Focusing is a challenge for me. I’m really passionate about acting. It makes me quite happy to know that I can make other people laugh.
He swore earnestly, “I’ll lick this.”
I will not be defeated by this guy, he declared. He went on, “I’m going to get it,” after that. I will return to my old self soon enough.
Actor Eva Longoria was criticized by Braeden for making “derogatory remarks” about her time on “The Young and the Restless” during a recent broadcast of CNN’s “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” While he was being interviewed, Braeden said these things.
She remarked, “You simply lacked the talent to handle the demands of this medium.” In a post from the previous month, Braeden referenced Longoria, 48, who rose to fame on the serial opera from 2001 to 2003 before making an appearance on “Desperate Housewives.”
