Being the son of well-known singer and actress Cher hasn’t made Chaz Bono’s life any easier, and he has had to overcome many obstacles. He has always been in the spotlight, which even in the best of situations can be difficult.
Chaz’s story is one of the most inspirational. At the age of 39, he began his shift to manhood in 2011. Even though things weren’t always easy at first, Cher has always been there for her beloved child.

Since the 2011 premiere of the documentary, Chaz has appeared in Hollywood on several occasions. He was the first transgender man to compete on Dancing with the Stars in the same year the documentary was released.
It was the first time a transgender man appeared on a major network television show for a purpose unrelated to his gender identity, according to Advocate.com.
Five years later, Chaz played Reverend Rydale on The Bold and the Beautiful and made five appearances in American Horror Story: Roanoke.
In addition to focusing on his acting career, Chaz has been battling his weight.
Chaz battled weight and was unable to thrive in his body for many years. His road to a healthy existence reached a turning point when he started his gender transition.
He told Oprah, “Before this, I could never have done it.”
“I didn’t care enough to act because I was too disengaged from my body and the body dysphoria I was experiencing was too severe.”
