Fitness Model, 24, Was Killed Outside a Gym in Broad Daylight — Details

There are still unresolved doubts regarding the purpose behind the terrible death of a fitness model outside a gym in broad daylight, which led to a manhunt for her killer.

24-year-old social media star and fitness model Fedra Oded Gaxiola Orozco was shot and killed while seated in her black Mercedes Benz.

She was outside the Hardcore Fitness Gym in Tijuana, Mexico’s López Lucio area. The assault happened about 8:35 a.m. On December 5, 2024, the terrifying scene was clearly seen to onlookers.

An unidentified attacker reportedly came up to Orozco’s automobile and shot several times through the car door and glass. The guy allegedly then drove off in a grey Chevrolet HHR, according to witnesses. Orozco was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, but she was declared dead not long after.

A manhunt was promptly initiated by the authorities to find the perpetrator. Miguel Ángel Gaxiola Rodríguez, the prosecutor for the Homicide Unit, said that the inquiry suggests a lone suspect. Witnesses at the site, however, asserted that other people were involved in the crime.

The investigation is still underway, and no arrests have been made as of yet. Originating from Sinaloa, Mexico, Orozco gained notoriety for her increasing popularity on social media and as a fitness model.

She gained a sizable internet following, with over 10,000 Facebook followers and over 200,000 Instagram and TikTok followers. Her posts emphasized fashion, fitness, and partnerships with different athletic and stylish apparel companies.

Concerns over her safety in the weeks preceding the incident have been raised by her death. Orozco claimed in a social media public statement in August that she had been physically abused by her ex-partner, Héctor Villegas, who had previously served as the municipal police director of Tijuana.

She said that during their relationship, she had experienced physical abuse. She said that the armed man who approached her was her ex-partner’s bodyguard, and she disclosed this information on her Instagram stories just days before she passed away.

The incidents of gun violence against Orozco were not new. When her ex-boyfriend was killed inside a BMW in the Hipódromo area in 2011, she managed to escape another shooting. She also survived that tragedy with her kid, who was in the car at the time.

Her prior allegations of abuse and threats have received more attention as a result of the present attack. Although Miguel Ángel Gaxiola Rodríguez, the prosecutor for the Homicide Unit, said that only one suspect is thought to be at fault, contradictory witness statements indicate that other men might have been involved.

Suspects’ names have not yet been made public. The public and Orozco’s supporters are still in shock as officials continue to look for the culprit or suspects responsible for the shooting.
