Simon’s face conveys their poor expectations for the performance when they first see the guitar. Their initial disappointment, though, is short-lived.
The judges are taken aback when Kenny starts playing a familiar riff from Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way.” They didn’t think he would provide such a strong performance! Kenny switches into a new tune when the video cuts to the next scene.
Aside from his age, Kenny’s confidence sets him apart from many other artists. He smiles and enjoys the music, but he stays attentive.
He clearly knows how to enthrall a crowd as he interacts with them and walks about the stage with enthusiasm.
Amazingly, Kenny even gets Simon to smile! The judges show their admiration for him right away after he finishes playing. Now known as the “God of Rock,” Kenny advances in the tournament after garnering four resounding “yes” votes.
