Donald Trump’s inauguration has dominated the last two days, and everyone’s attention has been on the Trump family and close circle.
However, JD Vance’s young daughter unexpectedly stole the spotlight in the middle of everything.
Everyone’s hearts melted at what she wore on her hand.

The Vance family experienced a significant event on January 20. Additionally, pictures of J.D. Vance and his family at the newly elected vice president’s inauguration swiftly won over hearts all around the country.
The photos showed Vance looking proud and happy with his wife, Usha, and their three kids, Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel.
You could tell it was a major affair for the Vice President personally when he arrived for the event wearing a dapper dark blue suit. It’s incredible to consider that he won his first political contest in Ohio only two years ago.
As he took the oath of office during the swearing-in ceremony, J.D. placed his hand on the Bible that his wife, Usha, was holding. As their sons, Vivek, 4, and Ewan, 7, dressed in identical blue suits and ties, watched, Usha stood proudly behind her husband, holding little Mirabel, 2, in her arms. A minor yet endearing touch caught the attention of viewers, ruining the otherwise picture-perfect family moment.
The moment of Mirabel
Mirabel had bandaged her little fingers and was chewing on her thumb. She reminded everyone of the wonderful, uncomplicated innocence of toddlerhood in the middle of all the ceremonial and historic events of the day, which is why it was such a touching moment. It was the nonchalant manner she was soaking up such a significant occasion, not just the adorable bandages on her fingers. It was made much more memorable by her easygoing, innocent appeal. Like when you’re riveted to your favorite cartoons, whether it’s Scooby-Doo or Bluey, it reminded everyone of how easy it is to be a kid, even in the spotlight.
She had her own tiny eccentricities, just like any other young child, which added realism and relatability to the situation.
The toddler’s pure charm instantly sparked adulation on social media. “I believe the entire nation can agree that JD Vance’s daughter sucking her thumb while wearing those kid bandages on her other fingers is absolutely adorable,” one user said on X. “It’s an iconic toddler move,” someone else remarked, referring to JD Vance’s daughter wrapping herself with bandaids immediately before a significant occasion.
In a different picture, J.D. leaned down to speak to his two sons, capturing another sweet family moment. Leaning on a railing, one of the youngsters clung to a stuffed bear, demonstrating that even significant occasions cannot displace the coziness of a beloved object.
Bandaged
However, Mirabel wasn’t the only one attracting notice. Usha, the country’s new Second Lady, also attracted attention with her tea-length, soft pink dress and special Oscar de la Renta cashmere coat. Although the ensemble was sophisticated, her attire wasn’t the only thing that got folks talking.
As the daughter of Indian immigrants, Usha was raised in a middle-class neighborhood in San Diego and has always been a source of pride and strength for the family. She and J.D. got married in 2014 after meeting in law school in 2010. As the first Indian American Second Lady, Usha also achieved a major milestone on Monday.
Each of J.D.’s sons walked with a guard while Mirabel was carried, and the two were taken out of the U.S. Capitol following the ceremony.
The Vance family was hailed as “lovely” by fans around the country, who were enamored with the children’s kindness. “Vance’s little daughter looks just like him,” said one fan. Adorable.
Three children’s parents
J.D. Vance has three children with his wife, Usha. Despite their infrequent public appearances, the Vance children’s parents have kept the majority of their personal information confidential.
Ewan, their eldest son, was born in 2017, Vivek, their second son, in 2020, and Mirabel, their youngest daughter, in December 2021.
In an Instagram post that has since been removed, the Vice President shared the happy news along with a touching hospital photo. He held their newest family member tenderly in the picture:
This year, we were fortunate enough to receive an early Christmas gift. Please welcome our first girl, Mirabel Rose Vance. We’re feeling really thankful this Christmas season, and both mama and baby are doing fantastic,” he added.
In February 2024, J.D. also read Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go! on the Senate floor as a heartfelt way to celebrate his son Vivek’s fourth birthday.
During the reading, he apologized for being unable to join him for his birthday dinner. However, I want you to know how much Daddy adores you. And since you might be able to see it at home, I’m going to record this.
The simplicity of a toddler’s bandaged fingers and a stuffed bear served as a reminder to everyone in the audience of what really matters in a world too frequently dominated by politics and division: family, love, and the moments that make life delightfully imperfect.
“J.D. Vance has the CUTEST daughter,” as one viewer so eloquently stated. She is really cute.
