When Rylan Clark and Rob Rinder released a major update on their popular BBC Two show, they were inundated with praise. After collaborating for the first time last year on their travel show, Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour, the dynamic combination won over audiences. Following the journey of 19th-century poet Lord Byron and other historical Grand Tourists, the three-part series followed the two as they visited some of Italy’s most beautiful art treasures in places like Venice, Florence, and Rome.

It was announced in October that the pair would be making a comeback to television for a second series, but this time they would be touring India. Rylan, 36, revealed that their initiative has been nominated for a BAFTA TV Award in the Factual Entertainment category, demonstrating how strong it is becoming. As he shared the news with his followers on Instagram, the This Morning host said that he “couldn’t believe it.”

He posted a picture of The Grand Tour on the list of candidates along with the caption, “I can’t believe I’m saying this, we’re nominated for a @bafta thank you so much for watching.”

“There is nothing on this earth more to be prized than true friendship,” Rob, 46, wrote in a comment on the page. Bravo, you intelligent, compassionate, and wonderful person.

“So @rylan said we’d either get cancelled or win a BAFTA????????????” the Good Morning Britain host wrote on his personal Instagram after sharing the news with the same picture. I’m proud of you, buddy. We are grateful to everyone who enjoyed seeing us.

Their friends and followers flooded their postings with encouraging words, eager to congratulate them on the nomination.

“WOW! “So well deserved….winners already in my eyes,” exclaimed Ruth Langsford, star of Loose Women.

A fourth fan concurred, saying, “Loved this program, well deserved!” Another fan added, “Can’t wait for the next one!”

The Grand Tour by Rob and Rylan will compete with Disney+ shows. Race Across the World, Sort Your Life Out, and Vogue: The Nineties are both broadcast on BBC One.

At this year’s BAFTA TV Awards, Netflix hit Baby Reindeer has eight nominations, while Mr. Bates vs. The Post Office, Rivals, and Slow Horses each have six. On Sunday, May 11, there will be the yearly awards presentation.
