A dog visited our new home every day. My son chose to follow him one day, and he was astonished by what he saw.
We just moved into our new house. For our family, it was a new beginning, and everything appeared ideal. The house was large and had a lovely yard where my children could play, just like I had dreamed.
I saw a dog in the garden the night before we moved in. He appeared to be a frequent visitor rather than a stray. He watched us in silence from a distance.
Inquisitive, my youngster walked outside to get what he desired. The dog ate the meal he gave it and then walked away.
The dog came back the following day, the day after that, and so on, every day for two weeks. He arrived, took a seat in the garden, silently watched, ate, and then departed.
He started acting almost ritualistically, and he seemed to be aware of our presence outdoors at all times. To find out where the dog was coming from and who owned him, my son made the decision to follow him one day.
We were all stunned by what he found that day.
In order to get to a residence at the end of the block, my son surreptitiously followed the dog throughout the neighborhood.
He saw a startling scene there.
The dog went into a messy yard where a man who was obviously upset was waiting for him.
The man hurried over to the dog and gave him a vicious beating without any apparent cause.
The dog fell, shuddering.
We were astonished when he told us what he had witnessed.
The dog was an abused animal looking for safety in our garden, not a stray.
We made sure the dog got a safe location away from the abuse he had experienced after getting in touch with the local authorities.
