I spent a month in the hospital, and when I returned home, I saw my belongings in boxes on the street: my daughter had kicked me out of the house, but soon something terrible happened

After a month in the hospital, I came home to find my possessions in boxes on the street; my daughter had evicted me, but a horrible incident had happened shortly after.

Normally, I don’t post on social media, but right now, I need guidance. How should I proceed?

My age is eighty-five. Due to health issues, I was in the hospital for the past month. My sole surviving relative is my only daughter, who looks after me. I kept having dreams about going home, including showering, resting in my own bed, and reliving the smell of my walls.

When I returned, however, I noticed an odd sight: the door had new locks, and all of my possessions were in boxes in the yard.

Before the door opened and my daughter emerged, I was unable to comprehend what was happening and didn’t think she had done this.

As if nothing had happened, she said, “Oh, Dad, you’re back.” “I packed your belongings.”

— “But why? I have no intention of going anyplace.

“What do you mean by not going? Our destination is a nursing home. According to the doctors, you require 24-hour care, and I am no longer able to provide it.

— “But I live here! This is where I want to spend my final days.

— “No, father. I call this place home. Furthermore, you don’t have much time left.

After saying that, she shut the door and gave me some money for a cab.

I was on the street, unsure of what to do or where to go. Tears were streaming down my face, and my hands were trembling. Despite my extreme anguish and hurt, I made an effort to remain strong. Standing close to the boxes, an utterly unexpected event occurred. I’ll tell you exactly what went wrong and ask for your opinion on how to make things right.

Just then, a neighbor—a young man who I believe was a blogger—came over. He switched on his camera as soon as he noticed my boxes and heard a portion of my daughter’s talk.

“Friends, take a look at what’s going on,” he stated in real time. “An elderly man’s family evicted him from his home.”

“Don’t film this, son; these are family issues.”

Nevertheless, he ignored me.

Within hours, the tale became viral on the internet. People were furious, denounced my daughter, and left remarks. She was dismissed by her employer. Friends turned away. “There’s the one who kicked out her father,” others on the street said, pointing at her.

My daughter is certain that I intentionally did this to exact revenge.

And I’m not sure if this was all correct anymore.

Yes, I was treated cruelly by my daughter. But she was the only person I had. She currently lacks a job, friends, and a future. I’ve caused her to lose everything.
