A young woman noticed a hand protruding from the snow while she was strolling along a forest trail. She shouted in fear as soon as she touched this odd discovery 
Anna was strolling along a slender path blanketed in recently fallen snow. She had returned to her hometown hamlet, where she had grown up, after many years of residing in the metropolis. Anna had made the decision to sell the old house and never return after losing both her parents. But first, she wanted to go away from all the activity and spend at least a week in peace and quiet.
She still enjoyed taking early walks in the forest as her favorite activity. There was a pristine silence everywhere, and the air was cold and clear. Anna strolled, relishing the silence, until her eyes landed on an odd object.
There was a human hand protruding from the snow. White and frozen. The girl was horrified and froze. It sounded as if the entire forest could hear the pounding of her heart.
She initially believed that a horrible event had occurred here and that it was some ghastly finding. However, curiosity triumphed over dread. She approached, touched the cold hand, and let out a horrified cry.
Abruptly, the hand began to move.
Anna shouted and flinched, but then she saw that there was a living being behind the snow! Her gloves got wet and cold as she started digging with her bare hands.
A few minutes later, beneath the snow, a young man’s face emerged. He had on a uniform from the military. His respiration was hardly audible, and his lips were bluish.
As Anna continued to dig, she covered the man with her scarf and tried to warm him with her breath. With shaky fingers, she pulled out her phone and dialed an ambulance and rescue personnel.
The physicians reported that he had miraculously lived a few hours later, already in the hospital. The young man was stuck beneath the snow after an avalanche blocked a portion of the forest road. Before Anna managed to stumble upon his hand, he had been lying there for hours.
And he only made it through because of her.
