Ashley’s family, particularly his father, who is a farmer, encouraged him to pursue his dream of making a livelihood as a musician. They even hoped that he would eventually perform at the Royal Variety Show, which they knew Her Majesty would like.

He acknowledged that Ashley’s performance was outstanding, though, adding that he was compelled to change his mind due to the very positive response from the live crowd.
