Canadian 15-year-old Jade Mathieu was nervous as she entered the Canada’s Got Talent stage. She told the judges that her shyness made her more anxious when speaking than when singing, which was a very sympathetic and intimate statement. The judges were first pleased by her reserved manner, but they were unaware of the tremendous potential she was concealing beneath the surface.
Jade’s timidity completely disappeared when the music started, and her amazing stage presence and strong voice took its place. She performed the song “Wicked Reflection” in a beautiful and moving way, displaying an incredible vocal range and control. She received a standing ovation for her performance, which enthralled both the judges and the crowd. They were astounded that a 15-year-old could have such a strong and mature voice.
Howie Mandel, one of the judges, was so impressed that she was referred to as a “perfect example of what a million-dollar winner could look like.” He hit the Golden Buzzer, sending her straight to the live performances in a moment that will never be forgotten. And to top it all off, she received a gift of $25,000. Jade’s audition was a stunning tale of conquering shyness to realize a dream and a potent demonstration of her talent.
