Sadly, shark attacks are rather frequent in Australia. Despite the fact that many people manage to avoid the dreadful predator, others are not so fortunate. The eerie video, which was taken during a 16-year-old boy’s attack in New South Wales last summer, shows the shark chasing the swimmer up into the shore.
In Australia, shark attacks claimed the lives of over twenty individuals last year. Fortunately, not all of them were deadly. A 16-year-old was attacked while swimming at Cabarita Beach on the north coast of New South Wales last summer. He was attacked by a 2-meter, nearly 7-foot bull shark, as shown in the terrifying video.
Even though many people enjoy going to the beach and swimming in the ocean, it’s crucial to be aware of your surroundings. A shark attack is unpredictable, even if many surfers, like those in Australia, may be seasoned. You never know what’s beneath the surface.
On June 29, 2025, at approximately 4 p.m., Cabarita Beach received a call that a 16-year-old kid had been attacked by a bull shark that had pursued him, leaving him with horrific and excruciating injuries to his arm, hand, and leg.
A 16-year-old boy was attacked by sharks in Australia.
In an attempt to assist the youngster as soon as possible and in a safe manner, beachgoers jumped into action. As the youngster was being rescued, a bystander reportedly noticed his arm “dangling by a thread,” according to the Daily Mail.
The person remembered, “His bicep was destroyed—you could see all the muscle, flesh, and bone.” “His blood loss was frightening.” It was all over me.

Thiago Collela, a volunteer surf lifesaver with the Rainbow Bay Surf Club, was also present. He described how he heard screaming while recording a seal in the water.
He told ABC Australia, “I ran down to the beach as fast as I could and saw other surfers carrying the injured boy on a surfboard to nearby grassland where a female paramedic was waiting.”
While paramedics treated the boy, he held him to divert his attention from the deep cut on his arm.
“As she applied a tourniquet to his wound, I was holding his head and conversing with him,” Mr. Collela stated. He even said, “Oh, I think I kicked the shark twice,” to which I replied, “Well done.”
The boy lived.
Bohdi McDonald, 16, was only thirty meters from the scene of the assault. As bystanders attempted to rescue the youngster, he claimed to have witnessed the shark “trashing about in shallow water.”
“The shark appeared to be attempting to bite him once more.”
Fortunately, the 16-year-old survived. See the harrowing footage of the event below.
