When Natalie “Octomom” Suleman gave birth to the first surviving octuplets in 2009, she became a worldwide phenomenon. With the addition of Noah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Josiah, Makai, Maliyah, and Nariyah, Suleman’s family, which already consisted of six children (Amerah, Calyssa, Elijah, Caleb, Joshua, and Aidan), increased to an amazing fourteen.
However, controversy has surrounded her incredible story. All of Suleman’s pregnancies were achieved by in-vitro fertilization (IVF), which was supervised by Dr. Michael Kamrava. Twelve embryos were implanted into Suleman by Kamrava in 2008. Of the embryos, eight became live births.
Later, Suleman asserted that she had not consented to such a high amount, claiming Kamrava had deceived her while she was taking medication.
Kamrava insisted that he followed her instructions and disputed this. In any case, according to Reuters, Kamrava’s license was terminated by the California State Medical Board in 2011 due to “gross negligence.”

Due to her struggles to provide for her huge family, Suleman’s prominence led to an unusual career path. She participated in boxing contests, worked as a stripper, and starred in an adult film at different points in time.
She also posed for a PETA commercial that promoted animal spaying and neutering. Due to ongoing financial difficulties, Suleman declared bankruptcy in 2012, claiming to owe $1 million, according to PEOPLE.
Her problems worsened in 2014 when she was accused of benefit fraud for not disclosing $26,000 in income. Suleman was given community service, probation, and an order to pay back the unreported money after entering a no contest plea to a misdemeanor.
Suleman has since chosen a more subdued lifestyle and left the limelight despite these difficulties. In order to make ends meet, she periodically took part in foreign picture sessions while working full-time as a counselor, as she disclosed in 2018. She has also been able to support her family with public assistance.
Suleman has talked candidly about her background with her kids, highlighting how letting go of celebrity helped them start again and live a more secure and genuine existence.
On January 26, 2025, her octuplets celebrated turning sixteen. “Happy Sweet 16th birthday to Noah, Isaiah, Nariyah, Maliyah, Jeremiah, Josiah, Jonah, and Makai!” Suleman wrote on Instagram to show off her pride. There are no words to describe how much we love, admire, and appreciate you!
“I feel incredibly fortunate to have all of you in my life, and I am thrilled and appreciative of the journey we are going to on. For the past sixteen years, God has shown you all love and protection, and He has wonderful plans for each and every one of you! As long as I live, you will always be my babies, and I will love and like you forever,” she said.

Suleman, who is now leading a more tranquil life, is devoted to raising her family and is appreciative of their affection as well as the lessons she has learnt from her difficult path.
