Connie Talbot was only six when she appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, but there was nothing ordinary about the audition that followed. Standing on the enormous stage, she looked incredibly young and almost fragile compared with the scale of the television production around her.
Her choice of “Over the Rainbow” made the challenge even greater. It’s a song that depends on emotion and vocal expression, and Connie had to deliver it while facing a huge audience and a panel of experienced judges.
Instead of letting the pressure overwhelm her, she began singing and immediately revealed a voice that seemed far beyond her years.
