An 11-Year-Old From Louisville Told Simon He Keeps It Real Like His Mama, Then Sang the Room to Its Feet

D’Corey Johnson was 11 and from Louisville, Kentucky. He told the America’s Got Talent judges he wants to be on Broadway and in movies, and that he dreams of being in Hamilton and Wicked.

He said he watches the show almost every day, and that Simon is his favorite judge, because Simon keeps it real like his mama. Simon laughed and said he was glad somebody liked him 😄.

D’Corey sang Open Arms by Journey and got everyone on their feet. Then Simon asked him to sing the chorus again without the backing track, and his voice sounded even more powerful on its own.

The judges said he had a place on Broadway and that he was a better singer than even what he performed. Simon told him things were going to be amazing for him, and said he would love to be the first to say yes 🔥.
