A father and his three grown sons walked onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage together. They introduced themselves as the Neales.
The dad, Laurie, said he turns 60 this year. His sons are 24, 26 and 28, and they work in marketing, at a bank and as a lawyer.
Then they explained why they were there. Ten years ago, Laurie had a heart attack. The sons realised it happened because he had run himself into the ground trying to provide for them 💔.
When they heard their dad was ill, their whole world stopped. He is the person they all look up to, and they said it was one of the worst times of their lives. For Laurie, it was a wake up call that there is more to life than work.
Laurie has always loved singing, and the family often sings together at birthdays and at Christmas. His dream was to sing with his boys on a real stage. It took him three years of asking, but the sons finally said yes.
This was their very first public performance. Their mum was in the audience, along with their nan, who was celebrating her birthday that day 🎂.
When the four of them sang together, their voices blended beautifully, and the audience was clearly touched.
The judges said they could not think of a better way to perform than with your family and the people you love, and that it was lovely to see the four of them enjoying the stage together. Then the yeses came in, and a dad’s dream became a dream the whole family shares ❤️.
