It goes without saying that everyone wants to think of their significant other as one of the prettiest people on the planet, but not everyone qualifies for People’s Magazine’s yearly “sexiest guy alive” issue. The magazine chooses one of the sexiest men in the world—or, to be honest, in Hollywood—after evaluating all of the most gorgeous men. It’s no small feat, and the Sexiest Man Alive this year was none other than John Krasinski, who starred in A Quiet Place and The Office.
Others were featured in the most recent edition, but Krasinski claimed that after receiving the news, he experienced a “instant blackout.” In honor of the title of “Sexiest Man Alive,” Gomez’s boyfriend, record producer Benny Blanco, also took part in a photo shoot. He can be seen in one of the pictures standing barefoot on a dining table. Blanco placed two Taco Bell Mexican pizzas on a silver platter and shared the table with a few drink glasses. Online users’ reactions to the news of Blanco’s presence in the issue were mixed; some even claimed that Gomez “bought” Blanco’s appearance in the magazine. Gomez posted a picture of Blanco on her Instagram Story to show her support for his engagement, even though People is more than capable of choosing its own candidates.
“Not only do you love me unconditionally, but you always get me my Taco Bell Mexican pizza,” she wrote as the caption for the picture. “I still haven’t figured out how to sit across from you, and not be madly in love with everything you do,” Gomez wrote in a follow-up tweet, quoting William C. Hannan. She showed her respect for the producer by tagging Blanco in the article. Blanco had the opportunity to talk about his reputation as the “sexiest guy” in an interview with People, saying that he had always felt extremely safe. “I’m a real morning person,” he added, expressing how much he loves to spend time with Gomez. We get up early, so I enjoy spending time with Sel. We have a window of opportunity before the rest of the world does. “Every day is the best day of my life because I have a true best friend with whom I can do anything.”
