😲😱 “Return to your forest and leave this place!— yelled a woman at a man with dark complexion. However, everyone was shocked to learn who he truly was.
I was just waiting for my time to check in when something difficult to keep quiet about happened.
A tall, self-assured man with dark skin and an expensive suit stood in front of me. He quietly gave his passport and reservation, not hurrying but not slack-jawed either. Everything is as it ought to be.
However, the woman behind us was enraged. She impatiently thumped the floor with her shoe. And all of a sudden— she yelled.
— Would you please hurry? Sharply, she said. We’re all rushing here, so you’re not alone!
The man pivoted. A steady voice and calm eyes:
I’m acting just like everyone else. I can’t move any more quickly.
However, she went too far:
Sending people like you back to your jungle is a good idea. We are tired of you!
The passengers in the vicinity froze. The agent’s eyes became wide with surprise.
He didn’t answer. He merely nodded appreciatively to the desk worker, who gave his papers back with a regretful expression.
Convinced that she had won, the woman grinned smugly.
😨😯 However, she was still unaware of who she had just insulted or what would happen to her…
She had just insulted someone she didn’t know. Because an airline agent and security officers came up a minute later to personally greet the man as the airline’s owner and an esteemed traveler.
“Your ticket has been canceled, Ma’am,” she heard. Come with me, please.
As though the earth had disappeared beneath her feet, the woman froze. Her self-assured smile vanished and became a terrified grimace.
— What? This must be an error! — Her voice wavered as she attempted to object.
The airline representative answered, “No mistake,” in a courteous but icy tone. Racism and disrespect have no place in our organization. We won’t be able to fly with you anymore.
Silently, the passengers observed the scene. Some even gave a gentle clap, but they soon stopped out of fear of ruining the occasion.
Now that everyone saw him differently, the dark-skinned man turned to the woman and spoke calmly:
— I hope this teaches you something.
She lowered her eyes because he didn’t yell at her or make fun of her in return.
She continued to mumble explanations that no one wanted to hear as she was led away.
The owner of the airline then approached the business lounge.
The door was courteously opened for him by one of the employees.
And as a random bystander, I fully understood: justice can occasionally arrive subtly, but it always reverberates loudly in the hearts of those who waited for it.
