A 10-year-old youngster from Abu Dhabi named Peter Rosalita entered the stage for his America’s Got Talent audition with a big dream and a bashful smile. He informed the judges that he would purchase a laptop and a Nintendo Switch for his online education with the award money. The judges and the audience were enthralled with his youthful, naive manner, but nobody was ready for the impactful performance he was about to deliver.
The mood of the room shifted dramatically as Peter started singing “All By Myself” as the music began. His voice was so powerful and mature that it easily reached high notes and filled the entire theater. It was hard to realize he was only a child because of the emotion and mastery with which he sang. As they listened to his incredible performance, the judges’ reactions quickly changed from amusement to awe and absolute admiration.
The judges were stunned and the audience was standing by the end of the song. Simon Cowell hailed the audition “incredible,” Heidi Klum joked that he could “explode a glass” with his high notes, and Howie Mandel called him “amazing.” Peter’s performance served as a stunning reminder that a strong voice knows no age boundaries and that talent may be discovered in the most unlikely locations. All of the judges gave him a unanimous “yes,” guaranteeing him a place in the competition’s next stage.
