Teased for Loving to Sing, He Took On Bring Him Home and Won Over BGT

Alex Keirl singing on Britain's Got Talent

Alex Keirl was 20 when he auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent. He started singing after his mum bought him a karaoke machine and practiced in his living room every day. At school, other kids made fun of him for wanting to be center stage, but he says it made him stronger.

For his audition, Alex chose “Bring Him Home” from Les Misérables. His voice grew bigger with every line, and the theater went silent as he reached for the high notes. 🎶

David Walliams said he had a stunning voice and really interpreted the song. Alesha Dixon told him he had a very powerful instrument, and Amanda praised his breath control. Simon’s only reservation was that it was pitched a little too high.

Then the votes came in, and all four judges said yes. The young man who once sang alone in his living room was through to the next round. ❤️
