At the Met Gala in 2023, Amanda Seyfried embodied the seductive beauty of the 1920s in all of its glory.
Tonight, the actress from “The Dropout” walked the red carpet wearing a breathtaking naked gown that was crafted especially for her by Oscar de la Renta.
The minidress was sheer and translucent, and it had a corset bodice as well as gold strands that cascaded down from her neck to her thighs. She wore a gold necklace with stacked pendants as her accessory, which went exceptionally well with the outfit.
The actress maintained a monochromatic look by using gold accessories, including gold hoop earrings, gold rings, and gold nail polish on both her toes and her feet.
A dramatic burgundy smoky eye and a bold raspberry lip were the finishing touches that Seyfried added to her flapper-style costume. She also wore a large curling iron to her hair.
This evening’s theme, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” pays tribute to the life and work of the late Chanel design director Karl Lagerfeld.
The show that will be held at the Costume Institute will feature roughly 150 of Karl Lagerfeld’s designs in addition to some of the designer’s sketches; both of these elements “underscore his complex creative process and collaborative relationships with his premiers, or head seamstresses.”
According to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, “Lagerfeld’s fluid lines united his designs for Balmain, Patou, Chloé, Fendi, Chanel, and his eponymous label, Karl Lagerfeld,” which resulted in “creating a diverse and prolific body of work unparalleled in the history of fashion.”
