Robbie Kennedy was 22 and had worked as a bricklayer in Cwmbran, South Wales, for six years when he came to Britain’s Got Talent in 2013. He had taught himself guitar from YouTube videos and mostly sang for his friends at weekends.
His first song did not win the judges over, and they asked if he had anything else. Robbie picked up his acoustic guitar again and started “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls. His voice was deeper and stronger than anyone expected, and the room quickly went quiet. 🎶
That second song changed the whole mood of the audition. The judges and the audience finally heard what the shy young builder could really do with a guitar and a microphone.
A quiet lad who once kept his singing hidden from his workmates showed that one more chance can make all the difference. ❤️
