Richard Goodall, 55, from Terre Haute, Indiana, has worked as a school janitor for 23 years, and the kids call him Mr. Richard. He told the AGT judges he loves to sing, and only his close friends and his fiancée Angie knew about his audition.
Then he sang Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” His voice was strong and confident, and the whole theater was soon cheering for the humble janitor. 🎶
The judges called it genuinely special. One said America was going to love him, and another imagined every kid who had ever been at his school screaming for him.
Heidi said he knocked her off her feet and pressed her Golden Buzzer for him. Richard, who had never even been on a plane before this trip, called it a dream come true. ❤️
