To prepare for the Met Gala, Anne Hathaway looked to the fashion of the ’90s for motivation. The actress was seen wearing a garment that included some eye-catching slits.
The Oscar winner, who is now 40 years old, made her public appearance wearing a white Versace dress with a deep V-neckline. The actress sported a garment that had gold safety pins used as fasteners all over it.
The edginess of Ann’s getup came from the extensive cuts that were made all the way down her body, from her chest to her thighs, as well as on the sides. Hathaway accessorized her look with a pair of fingerless gloves.
The Hollywood actress had brought a jacket with her, and she wore it in such a way that it draped over her arms as she was on the red carpet. The actress accessorized her outfit with Bulgari jewelry, including an opulent choker that went well with the gold and pearl hardware that was featured on the dress.
She had on satin white platform shoes with pointed toes, and they were pointed at the front. A hairdo that emphasizes volume was applied to Hathaway’s tresses.
The way Anne was dressed brought to mind Liz Hurley’s legendary black Versace dress that had a safety pin and was worn in 1994. Tweed was used to construct Anne’s ensemble, which she referred to as “the marriage of Versace and Chanel.”

This time around, the subject of the evening was “Karl Lagerfeld: a line of beauty.” Chanel’s creative director at the time was the German fashion designer. 2019 marked the year of his passing at the age of 85.
According to the Daily Mail, the MET 2023 gala was hosted by a number of celebrities, including Penelope Cruz, Dua Lipa, Mikaela Coel, Roger Federer, and many more. The yearly event is organized and hosted by Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, who also plays a role in the event.
