I invited a man I met on a dating site to come over for a first date, but I screamed in horror as soon as I opened the door 😱😨

I had a lot of insecurities after my first marriage ended. He said that no one needed me, that I was ugly, and that no one would ever love me if he didn’t. And I had faith in him. However, it felt like my eyes were finally opened after the divorce, or more accurately, after his treachery. I became aware of the person I had spent so many years living with.

Joining a dating service, according to my friends, “will help you take your mind off things.” Even though I didn’t think it would work, I made the decision to attempt it one day.

All of a sudden, I was receiving messages from dozens of men every day with praise, interest, and attention. It felt good, but I wasn’t used to it.

I struck up a unique kind of conversation with one of them. He had a sophisticated sense of humor and was highly knowledgeable and educated. Hours would pass during our conversations, and I found myself anxiously anticipating his texts.

The only weird thing was that his profile didn’t feature a picture of his face. Just a few pieces: his hands, his eyes, a back perspective. But I didn’t give it much thought because he appeared so genuine.

He proposed that we meet in person after a few weeks had passed. I concurred. I wanted everything to be flawless, so I prepared dinner, got ready, and cleaned the home. My heart was racing as the doorbell rang. I proceeded to unlock the door. and let out a horrified scream 😱😱

Standing on the doorstep was my ex-husband’s brother. clutching a bunch of flowers.

— “I apologize for not telling you sooner,” he said. “I assumed that you wouldn’t want to speak with me.”

— “What are you doing here?” Stunned, I muttered.

He lowered his gaze and remarked, “I’ve always been in love with you.” And it was painful to witness how my brother, that idiot, denigrated you, cheated on you, and made fun of you. Maybe we could have a chance now that you’re free.

I was unable to speak and stood motionless. All these years, I hadn’t even noticed his interest. I’m not sure if I should give him a chance or stop talking to him.
