An odd elderly man who was unable to recall his name or address was discovered by the police on the street: They eventually found his residence and walked inside, where they discovered something terrible 
— Officer, this individual was discovered on the street today. He didn’t have any identification on him, and he can’t recall his name or residence. Perhaps he’s ill. or concealing anything. What ought we to do?
— Nothing. The young policeman took the elderly guy by the hand and said, “I’ll take care of it myself,” in a quick reply.
In an office, the elderly man was seated. He appeared worn out and bewildered, yet there was an odd sparkle in his eyes, possibly anxiety or worry.
The officer began by asking straightforward questions:
From whence did you originate?
— I can’t recall…
— Are you a parent? Family?
— No, no one
— What is your name?
— No
The responses were unclear at times and occasionally had no meaning at all. The elderly man appeared to be concealing something or was hesitant to speak the truth. The cop started to suspect something.
He asked for the footage from the street’s security cameras where the elderly man had been discovered. He watched the video for hours. The man was just moving slowly through the streets, pausing now and then as though he had lost his way.
The cop and his coworkers examined dozens of cameras throughout the day, following the elderly man’s movements. At last, they were able to identify the house from which he had originated. Maybe jogging his memory would help, so the officer took the man with him.
They knocked on the door when they got at the address, but nobody responded. The house was silent and dark.
One of the cops said, “Perhaps he lives alone?”
— No. Let’s make sure. Smash the door open.
A powerful impact slammed into the door. When the cops entered the house, everyone was astounded at what they discovered
An old woman was on the couch. Her breathing was laborious, and her face was pale. Even though she was barely able to move, she was trying to say something like, “Help,” with her lips.
The officer dialed an ambulance right away. Everything became evident at that same moment.
It’s true that the elderly man had dementia. His wife had unexpectedly become quite ill that day. He attempted to call for assistance, but the phone was too difficult for him to use. Thus, he made the decision to see the neighbors and lost sight of his original motivation.
Hours passed while he wandered the streets in agony until his strength finally failed.
The old man had, as it happened, brought assistance. His last-ditch effort to save his wife finally succeeded, albeit being a day late.
The officers were not apathetic after the occurrence; they gathered funds and employed a caretaker for the old couple.
