Flau’jae was a 14-year-old rapper from Savannah, Georgia, when she came back to America’s Got Talent in 2018 for the Judge Cuts. Her father, a rising rapper known as Camouflage, was killed two days before he was due to sign a record deal, while her mother was pregnant with her.
Flau’jae said her goal is to continue her father’s legacy. She performed her original song “I Can’t Lose”, a rap about her life and everything she has been through to reach that stage. 🎶
The judges were blown away. Guest judge Chris Hardwick said he had goosebumps and that at 14 she had the authenticity and honesty some artists never reach. He gave a shout out to her mom and then pressed the Golden Buzzer.
She never got the chance to know her father, but that night she honoured him in the best way possible, with her own words and her own voice. ❤️
