A Teacher Told Him to Give Up on Music, Then Josh Curnow Left the BGT Judges in Awe

Josh Curnow, a 26-year-old guitarist and singer-songwriter from Cornwall, came to Britain’s Got Talent with his girlfriend cheering for him. Music was all he ever wanted, but after he was diagnosed with dyslexia as a young teenager, a teacher told him to stop trying to be a musician.

Josh sat at the piano and opened with Green Day’s “Basket Case,” slowed down into something completely new. Then he moved into “Runnin’ (Lose It All),” and his voice grew bigger with every line. 🎶

The audience broke into applause more than once while he was still singing, and the judges could not hide how impressed they were by the power and emotion in his voice.

For a young man who was once told to give up on his dream, this audition was the perfect answer. Josh showed everyone that the teacher had been wrong about him. ❤️
