Makenna Sollinger, 22, and Brock Wade, 18, came to The X Factor USA from Springfield, Missouri. They met doing a musical and had been singing together for about four years. Backstage, Brock admitted something Makenna did not know yet: he loved her.
On stage, the judges asked if they were related, then if they were dating. Brock turned red, and both insisted they were just friends. Then they sang “Colder Weather” by the Zac Brown Band, and their voices blended beautifully. 🎶
The judges loved it. One said they had made his day, another praised harmonies that were spot on, and another called their vocal blend really lovely. Even the judge who was not normally a fan of this style called it sensational.
All four judges said yes. Whether or not Makenna ever learns how Brock feels, their duet showed that the connection between them on stage is very real. ❤️
